You usually pay Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) on increasing portions of the property price above £125,000 when you buy residential property, for example a house or flat.
However, from July 2020 to March 2021, the UK enters the property stamp duty holiday. During this period, the first house purchased under £500000 will no longer be subject to stamp duty tax.
Use this SDLT calculator to work out how much stamp duty tax you’ll pay during the stamp duty holiday.
